Under the Hood
Building DriveIntel presented some unique challenges. I needed a system that could deeply integrate with the Google Drive API while managing strict rate limits and complex permission structures.
Processing diverse document formats was another hurdle. I leveraged extraction libraries (like mammoth and pdf-parse) and fed that data into Gemini. To ensure that scanning massive folders wouldn't disrupt the user experience, I integrated Inngest for reliable, background job processing.
